Flooded Roads in Columbia County

There are a number of roads in Columbia County that are flooded, and some of them are closed. County Roads with water over them include: 31, 58, 60, 62 west of the College Hill Church, and 62 on both sides of the intersection with Highway 79. Columbia County Road 72 has water over it, also 100 yards of 64. 73 is under water and impassable.

Muleriders Picked 5th in GAC Football

The SAU football team is picked fifth in the Great American Conference Pre-season Coaches Poll. The defending champion, Henderson State, was picked first, followed closely by Harding. Magnolia Police have released information about search warrants executed Monday at 1022 West Calhoun and 101 Taylor Road. The Arkansas State Police and the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office were also involved. It’s reported that investigators seized several firearms, a large quantity of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. SAU Hires New Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach

SAU head women’s basketball coach Julio Pacheco has announced the hiring of Jessica Salera as his assistant. Salera spent the last two seasons as an assistant at Sam Houston State. Prior to that, she was an assistant at her alma mater, Tennessee Temple University. She had over 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in her career at Tennessee

SAU’s George Adams had the lowest first-round score in the history of the Great American Conference Golf Tournament. Adams shot a 5-under-par 67 Sunday in Hot Springs.
