Alderman Sam Whitelaw has announced that he is not seeking re-election to the Magnolia City Council. Whitelaw said in a release, “After much consideration, I will not be a candidate for the city council seat I am now serving. I have proudly served as your alderman in Ward 4, position 1 for eight years. I would like to thank my colleagues, current and past, for their hard work and dedication. I would also thank the city department supervisors and all of the loyal city employees for their hard work. Finally, I would like to thank the citizens for allowing me to serve as their representative in Ward 4. It has been a true honor.”
