SAU Sports Updates

 

The SAU basketball teams were both winners Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist University. The Lady Muleriders won 74-71 and the Muleriders won 96-88. It was the final game of the season for the Lady Muleriders. The Muleriders will play this week in the Great American Conference Tournament in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The Muleriders are the six-seed and they play the three-seed, Arkansas Tech, at 8:00 p.m. Friday.

 

The SAU softball team swept their four-game series at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma. It was the first conference series for the Lady Muleriders; they are 14 and 2 overall. The Lady Muleriders won 5-0 and 10-1 Friday, and 4-3 and 10-0 Saturday. That gives coach Jason Anderson 400 career wins. The next action for the Lady Muleriders is Friday and Saturday at Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

 

The SAU baseball team won two of their three games against East Central University at Goodheart Field. The Muleriders won the first two games by the 10-run mercy rule, 13-3 Friday night and 10-0 in Saturday’s first game. But East Central won Saturday’s nightcap 8-2. The Muleriders are now 5 and 1 in GAC games, 8 and 5 overall. They have a non-conference game at home at 6 p.m. Tuesday against Texas A&M- Texarkana. Then they host Oklahoma Baptist Friday and Saturday.
